🌿 A Note About These Resources
Everything on Moss & Moon Studio is offered freely and without pressure. Life is already asking enough of you.
These resources are simply for you if you need them.
🎧 Moss & Moon Studio
Moss & Moon Studio grew out of a simple belief: what we dwell on matters to our inner world.
Sound is powerful in ways we don’t always notice. Music and Sound have a way of slipping past our defenses and reaching parts of us that words alone sometimes can’t.
The same is true of the things we hear repeatedly.
The stories we tell ourselves matter. The voices we listen to matter. The messages that play quietly in the background of our lives matter.
That’s part of why I’m interested in affirmations, guided reflections, meditations, and subliminals. Not because I think they’re magical shortcuts, but because our minds are constantly absorbing information. We are always being influenced by something.
If the alternative is filling our days with criticism, anxiety, doomscrolling, and endless reminders of everything that’s wrong, then choosing to fill the background of our lives with messages of hope, self-compassion, healing, creativity, and possibility seems like a worthwhile experiment.
At the very least, it’s a gentler soundtrack. 🙂
I think many of us spend our lives trying to hear something quiet inside ourselves. But life is noisy. There are opinions everywhere. Expectations everywhere. Notifications everywhere. It’s easy to lean into stress.
Listening to the innermost part of ourselves can be surprisingly difficult.
So I see these tools as invitations rather than answers. None of these things can tell you who you are, but they might help you hear yourself a little more clearly.
That’s what Moss & Moon Studio is really about.
Creating small moments of quiet, wonder, reflection, and encouragement – moments that make it easier to reconnect with the person you’ve been all along.
Take what helps and leave what doesn’t.
And if a song, a meditation, an affirmation, or a whispered reminder helps you feel a little more grounded, a little more hopeful, or a little more like yourself, then it has already done something worthwhile.
🌙 How Does Any of This Fit Together?
So… Why Are There Journal Prompts Next to Mythology?
One thing I’ve noticed over and over is that people rarely struggle with only one thing. We don’t have a creativity problem over here and an anxiety problem over there and a self-worth problem tucked neatly into another folder.
Everything echoes everything else.
→ The way we speak to ourselves affects our relationships.
→ Our relationships affect our nervous systems.
→ Our nervous systems affect our creativity.
→ Our creativity affects our sense of meaning.
→ Our sense of meaning affects how we move through the world.
It’s all tangled together in this wonder – full – y complicated knot called being human. Being a part of LIFE.
Which is why you’ll find such a strange mix of fantastical, grounded, aesthetic, practical things here.
Affirmations are right next to mythology are next to journal prompts next to nervous system exercises and reflections on faith sitting beside creativity worksheets.
📚 Why Life Is a Story, Not a Collection of Events
I think one of the most surprising parts of growing up is realizing that we never really stop being who we’ve been. What we call the inner child is often much bigger than it sounds. I think of it less like a single part of ourselves and more like a wild and linked collection of moments that haunt us. The confident child. The frightened child. The curious child. The lonely child. And at any age in any moment. They aren’t frozen somewhere in the past. They show up throughout our lives, sometimes quietly and sometimes all at once, reminding us that who we are today is woven from many different versions of who we’ve been.
The twelve-year-old is still in there.
The sixteen-year-old is still in there.
The college student. The new parent. The exhausted version. The hopeful version. The version who was brave. The version who was scared.
They don’t disappear.
We just keep building layers and layers on top of them. I don’t think it’s helpful to even label these as “good” or “bad”.
Sometimes you react to something in the present and realize, a little unexpectedly, that a much younger version of you is reacting too.
And suddenly the moment isn’t just about today.
It’s connected to years of other moments.
The stories we carry about ourselves tend to echo across many different chapters. And those stories don’t stop with us. Every day, the layers we carry meet the layers carried by others. We hurt each other, heal each other, misunderstand each other, and love each other, sometimes intentionally and sometimes without realizing it. We offer exactly what someone needs without realizing it. We reopen old wounds without meaning to. Every person we meet is carrying a lifetime of experiences, just as we are, and all of those layers are constantly interacting in ways both visible and invisible.
And just when we think we’ve healed something within ourselves, life changes. We change. New experiences reveal old layers we hadn’t noticed before, and familiar wounds ask to be understood in a new way.
Healing is an ongoing journey of tending to every part of who we are and every connection between those parts.
The child we were.
The person we are now.
The person we are still becoming.
Each carries its own memories, fears, strengths, and hopes, and healing asks us to listen to all of them.
Sometimes it feels like progress. Sometimes it feels like circling back. There is a constant push and pull between holding on and letting go, between honoring the past and stepping into something new.
And because we are always growing, healing has to move through every layer of us again and again—through our stories, our relationships, our beliefs, our bodies, and eventually toward the quiet core of who we are.
Not to perfect us.
But to help every part feel seen, connected, and at home within the whole.
🌿 If You’re Here
Are you curious?
Are you tired?
Are you looking for healing?
Maybe you’re looking for wonder.
Maybe you’re simply trying to feel a little more like yourself again.
Whatever brought you here, welcome!
Take what helps and remember that becoming whole is rarely a dramatic moment.
More often, it’s a series of small recognitions.
Here’s to the long, winding work of becoming more fully ourselves. 🦊🥂
